Veterans Battlefields 10 days

The name of Viet Nam always reminds people of famous wars during its history: French war and American war. Though now, time passed and the memories of these periods of history have flown away in many people’s thoughts, they still remain in the veterans of both Vietnam and the countries who joined these wars.

However, the huge wall between them no longer exist now, just the sympathy and the love for this country exist.

Day 4~6: Da Nang— Hue— Quang Tri (B, L, D)

This area saw most of the major confrontations during the American War. North of Hue is the Demilitarized Zone, or DMZ, and Quang Tri Province where much of the fighting occurred. The border between the communist North and the US-supported South was the Ben Hai River, not the ‘17th Parallel’ as is popularly believed . The area still bears the scars of the massive bombardments that took place. The few remains of the many camps and combat bases, the barren ground pockmarked with craters, and the tens of thousands of graves in the National Cemetery, a fraction of the million North Vietnamese soldiers who died in the conflict, are solemn reminders of war. Nearby is the Vinh Moc tunnel complex, less extensive, but more authentic, than the more famous Cu Chi tunnels. Beside visits to these relics, a visit to Cham Museum, the Marble Mountains and Non Nuoc beach; a Perfume river boat trip to Thien Mu Pagoda (16th. century), tours of Hue Royal Citadel and Tu Duc and Khai Dinh’s Tombs (4th. and 12th. Kings of the Nguyen Feudal Dynasty) will be offer to give you relaxable time.

Day 7: Hue — Ho Chi Minh trail (B, L, D)

Quang Tri Vietnam

Quang Tri

Drive to Ho Chi Minh Trails The Ho Chi Minh Trail was a complex web of different jungle paths that enabled communist troops to travel from North Vietnam to areas close to Saigon. It has been estimated that the National Liberation Front received sixty tons of aid per day from this route. Most of this was carried by porters. Occasionally bicycles and ponies would also be used. At regular intervals along the route the NLF built base camps. As well as providing a place for them to rest, the base camps provided medical treatment for those who had been injured or had fallen ill on the journey. In the early days of the war it took six months to travel from North Vietnam to Saigon on the Ho Chi Minh Trail. But the more people who travelled along the route the easier it became. By 1970, fit and experienced soldiers could make the journey in six weeks. Although the United States Air Force tried to destroy this vital supply line by heavy bombing, they were unable to stop the constant flow of men and supplies. See this trail, you will not only have chance to see the old battle field but also another secret of Vietnam war.
